Welcome to william kooienga sculpture and beech hollow studios!
|
My partner Sharon and I live simply, in a secluded hollow in Middle Tennessee, in a solar-powered log cabin we built ourselves. Since the mid-seventies when I spent a brief stint as a school teacher in Michigan, I have made my living as a sculptor here in Tennessee and in Asheville, NC.
Most of my work now is in wood, although I work with stone and metal as well. Outdoor sculpture has been my focus for some time now, but my more recent commissions have included a custom tree house near Center Hill Lake. Most of my work is by commission, but I also usually have an inventory of pieces for sale (some of which are on this website), including sculpted bowls, various sized sculptures, furniture, and smaller items such as cutting boards and kitchen utensils. Sharon is a spinner and weaver and our studios are open by appointment most any time. We participate in the Off the Beaten Path studio tour each October on the last weekend of that month.
NEW: If you are interested in receiving an email with information on new works available, please let us know by emailing us. Include your name, telephone number, location (city/state), and a brief introduction.
